Minimally Invasive BPH Treatments

Office and outpatient procedures that open the prostate channel quickly, with minimal downtime and preservation of sexual function.

Minimally invasive BPH treatments

Men with an enlarged prostate no longer have to choose between lifelong medication and traditional surgery. A range of minimally invasive therapies relieve obstruction with short recovery and a low risk of the sexual side effects associated with older procedures.

Options Dr. Sosenko may discuss

  • Prostatic urethral lift — small implants hold the enlarged lobes apart; typically an office procedure with no cutting or heating
  • Water vapor thermal therapy — targeted steam shrinks obstructing tissue over a few weeks
  • Transurethral ablation and resection techniques using modern energy sources for larger glands

Choosing the right one

Prostate size and shape, symptom severity, medications such as blood thinners, and your priorities — including preserving ejaculation — all matter. Dr. Sosenko uses cystoscopy and imaging to measure the prostate and recommends the approach that fits, rather than a one-size-fits-all procedure.
