What to expect at your first visit, insurance, and tools to prepare.
Your first visit
Please arrive about 15 minutes early and bring:
- Photo ID and your insurance card
- A list of current medications and allergies
- Any prior urology records, imaging reports, or lab results (or let us know where to request them)
- A referral, if your insurance plan requires one
- Your questions — write them down so nothing is forgotten
Most urology visits include a urine test, so please be prepared to give a urine specimen after you arrive. If you need to use the restroom before being called, tell the front desk first.
A typical new-patient visit lasts 30–45 minutes and may include an ultrasound bladder scan or other office testing so that a plan can be started the same day.
Insurance & billing
The Sosenko Center for Advanced Urology works with most major commercial insurance plans as well as Medicare. Because plan participation changes, please call (610) 648-2280 with your insurance information before your visit and the office will verify coverage and let you know about any referral or authorization requirements.
Prescription refills
For refills, please contact your pharmacy first; they will send the request to our office. Allow two business days.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can I be seen?
Dr. Sosenko founded this center specifically so that patients would not wait six months or more to see a urologist. New patients are usually scheduled within weeks. Call (610) 648-2280 or send a request.
Do I need a referral?
Some HMO and Medicaid plans require a referral from your primary care physician before seeing a specialist. Check with your plan, or call the office and we will help you find out.
Which office should I choose?
Both offices are scheduled through the same phone number. The Lebanon office at 931 Russell Drive is the main location; the Pine Grove office at 8 Oak Grove Road (inside West Schuylkill Family Practice) serves patients in Schuylkill County and the surrounding area.
Where does Dr. Sosenko perform surgery?
Many procedures — cystoscopy, urodynamics, vasectomy, bladder Botox and nerve stimulation — are performed in the office. Surgery requiring anesthesia is performed at an affiliated hospital or surgery center; the office will review the location and instructions with you when scheduling.
What should I do if I have a urologic emergency?
Inability to urinate, severe flank pain with fever or vomiting, or heavy bleeding in the urine need immediate attention. Go to the nearest emergency department or call 911, then let our office know so we can follow up.
