First-author study of 8,102 transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies across the Pennsylvania Urologic Regional Collaborative (2015–2018). Non-infectious complications (bleeding, urinary retention, syncope, pain) occurred 2.5 times more often than infections; larger prostate size predicted post-biopsy urinary retention.
