Cystoscopy
Cystoscopy lets Dr. Sosenko look directly inside the urethra, prostate and bladder using a flexible scope about the width of a pencil. It is the definitive way to evaluate blood in the urine, recurrent infections, persistent bladder symptoms, and to check for bladder tumors, stones, or strictures.
In the office, in minutes
- Numbing gel is applied; no sedation is needed
- The flexible scope is passed gently through the urethra — the examination itself takes only a few minutes
- You can watch on the monitor as Dr. Sosenko explains what he sees
- You may notice mild burning or a small amount of blood for a day; drinking extra water helps
